Signs you should see a chiropractor

Here are 10 signs that you should stop lying on a heating pad, put down the ice packs and stop taking Tylenol and come and visit Rocky Mount Chiropractic.

1. Headaches

Headaches are caused by a number of reasons. Some of them include oxygen deprivation, malnutrition, dehydration or a neck misalignment or spine misalignment.  We can help relieve symptoms of headaches and increase the amount of oxygen the brain receives by improving the blood flow to your brain.

2. Muscle & Joint Pain

If you have joint or muscle pain, it could be caused by problems within the musculoskeletal alignment. We are trained to make sure that your body is functioning as good as it possibly can by using spinal manipulations to relieve pain in your joints and muscles.

These adjustments will increase the flow of your blood and nerve conductivity to the joints and muscles that are experiencing pain.

3. Your job requires you sitting for long periods of time

If you’re sitting down all day at your job, especially working with a keyboard, it’s not uncommon to wind up with poor posture. Poor posture will put unwanted pressure on the upper back, shoulders and neck. The pressure can cause the discs and bones to shift and cause problems. This can included herniated or slipped discs in your back. We can make sure your spine is aligned correctly and help prevent future problems.

4. Chronic back pain

If you’re experiencing chronic back pain, that’s one of the most obvious signs that a visit to us is recommended. There are numerous factors that contribute to back pain such as how long you’ve been on your feet each day, the type of work you do, which activities you’ve been doing or your posture.

We can provide you with pain relief without the use of narcotics or surgery.

5. Uneven shoe soles

Keep an eye on your shoes. If the soles of them wear out unevenly, it’s a sign your body is out of alignment. Just like tires on your car, it needs to be aligned. If your shoe soles are worn unevenly, it’s an indicator that you are experiencing a subluxation in the spine and spinal manipulation is needed to realign your spine. This will prevent the issue from turning into a chronic issue.

6. Motion range is limited

Are your arms or legs not as flexible as they were previously? Neck won’t turn as far in one direction as it does the other? If you said “yes”, it’s time to come see us and allow us to realign those bones and joints. This can relieve the pain and increase the bodies range of motion. If you have a normal range of motion, your body will function better.

7. Recent accidents

If you recently fell or were in an automotive accident, this can cause serious injuries that we can help heal. We specialize in these type of injuries and can diagnose and properly treat a wide variety of injuries. Seeing us should be your top priority after being involved in any accident.

8. Sharp, shooting pain in your legs

If your legs are tingling, have weakness or have a sharp, shooting pain in them, you could have a pinched nerve or slipped disc. We will be able to diagnose the cause of your pain and will perform a spinal adjustment to alleviate the pressure that’s placed on the nerve that’s causing your pain.

9. You are an active person

If you live an active lifestyle such as playing sports or working out then your body is subject to additional strain and pressure. This causes the spine to be misaligned. Over time, your body becomes prone to pinched nerves, slipped discs and other alignment issues. If you visit us on a regular basis, we will help keep your body functioning at its prime so you can continue living the active lifestyle that you love.

10. You want to live a more health conscious life

If you want to be more aware of how to take the best care of your body or just want to live a more health conscious life, we’re an excellent source of information. We can provide you with different routines to exercise, nutritional guidance and specific techniques to help you relieve stress.  This along with spinal adjustments will help improve your emotional and physical well-being.
